This year (2007) we partnered with the following Birmingham City and Jefferson County Schools. Epic, Wenonah, Hill, A G GAston, and Jones Valley Elementary Schools and The Jefferson County Burkett Center.

December 14, 2007 -   The Benefit Concert by the Birmingham Sunlights for the Special Toys for Special Kids Campaign was a great success. Their harmonistic version of Bing Crosby's "The Littlest Angel" rendered all sweet memories of love and understanding.   A very special thank you to Crumley Chapel's Elementary School choir for their rendition of "You are our heroes"

Toys, Toys, Toys, the most Special Toys of all….

Thursday, September 7, 2007, Special Toys for Special Kids added Fairfield Board of Education as partners. They will join the partners of Birmingham Board of Education, Wenonah Elementary School, and Jefferson County's Burkett Center.  Together we can make a difference in the lives of very special kids and very very Special Educators.

Thursday, August 9, 2007, 7:45am, members of the Special Toys for Special Kids Board and Educators from the Burkett center, began the school year with a prayer.

The excitement is heart moving and loving.

In 2006 JACOC's Special Toys for Special Kids added the Special Education Classes at the Burkett Center in Jefferson County.  They were added to the 2005 adoption of Wenonah Elementary's Special Education Class.  It is our hope that 2007 will allow our efforts the ability to adopt more.

Dear Ms. Harris and Rev. Blackburn,

Thank you again for your hard work and commitment to make Special Toys for Special Kids a reality for so many children in the Birmingham City Schools.

Additionally thank you for your assistance to ensure that the children received their toys before they went home for the Christmas hoildays.

I thoroughly enjoyed the program and look forward to partnering with

you again next year.   May you continue to be blessed for the assistance

and joy you bring to children.

Gratefully,
